Postwar Streets and Waterfront Lots
Asphalt paving in Brick usually means one of two kinds of property: the postwar neighborhoods built between the 1950s and 1980s, like Lake Riviera, Laurelton and Baywood, or the waterfront homes along the Metedeconk River, Barnegat Bay and the lagoons. Brick had 73,620 residents in the 2020 census on about 25.6 square miles of land, and about a fifth of the township's total area is water.
Mid-century driveways
Driveways in the older neighborhoods have usually been overlaid at least once. When the cracks from the original base keep coming back through, or the driveway now sits above the garage floor, another overlay is not the answer. We mill or remove the old layers, rebuild the base and pave once at the right height.
Waterfront and Sandy
Sandy badly damaged waterfront and barrier island property in Brick in 2012, and some buildings had to be demolished. Rebuilt and raised homes along the water often need driveways regraded to new elevations. Low, wet lots need a deeper base and a surface that drains toward the street instead of toward the house.
Snow and plows
Brick saw 30 inches in the December 2010 blizzard, the highest total in the state for that storm, and another 24 to 30 inches in a February 2026 blizzard. Heavy plowing scrapes edges and aprons, and meltwater refreezes in any crack. Crack sealing in the fall and edge support pay off here.
Township streets
About 256 of Brick's roughly 319 miles of road are maintained by the township, with county and state roads like Route 70, Route 88 and Route 35 making up the rest. We check which applies to your address before any apron work.

- Commercial lot repairs and striping along Routes 70 and 88
Lagoon neighborhoods
Neighborhoods like Cherry Quay, Shore Acres, Havens Cove and Metedeconk Neck sit on lagoons and the river, where bulkheads, boats and trailers share space with the driveway. A boat trailer's jack and wheels put heavy point loads on asphalt. We thicken the section where trailers park and recommend boards under jacks. On these lots we also look at where water from the street and roof goes before we set the final grade.
Commercial corridors
Route 70 and Route 88 are lined with plazas, restaurants and offices whose lots see year-round traffic plus summer peaks. Full-depth patching at the entrances and a sealcoat and restripe across the lot keep them presentable without closing.

Brick Questions
My Brick driveway is higher than the garage floor. Can you fix that?
Yes. We mill or remove the stacked layers and repave at the correct height.
Can you pave a driveway on a lagoon lot?
Yes, with a deeper base and a slope that drains toward the street.
When is the best time to crack seal?
Fall, before the first freeze, when the pavement is dry.
Can my driveway handle a boat trailer?
Yes, if the section where it parks is built thicker. Use boards under the jack, especially in hot weather.
